1. Installation & Commissioning
1.1 What are the key precautions for valve installation?

Installation must comply with hydraulic system design specifications and Rexroth's installation guidelines, with the following key points:

  • Mounting position: It is recommended to install it in a well-ventilated and easy-to-maintain location, avoiding direct sunlight or proximity to high-temperature components (such as engines and heaters).
  • Pipeline connection: Strictly follow the port marking (P = inlet, T = return, A/B = working ports) for connection; the pipeline should be flushed before installation to remove impurities such as iron filings and dust.
  • Torque requirement: Use a torque wrench to tighten the pipeline joints according to the specified torque (refer to the manual), to prevent oil leakage caused by insufficient tightening or thread damage caused by excessive tightening.
  • Electrical connection: Ensure that the power supply voltage matches the valve's rated voltage; the wiring should be firm and waterproof, and the signal line should be separated from the power line to avoid electromagnetic interference.
1.2 How to perform the initial commissioning of the valve?

The initial commissioning should be carried out step by step under the condition that the hydraulic system is filled with oil and exhausted:

  • Power-on check: Connect the power supply, and confirm that the valve's indicator light is on (if equipped) and there is no abnormal sound.
  • Zero adjustment: Input a 0% proportional signal (0 mA), and check whether the actuator is in a static state; if there is a drift, adjust the zero adjustment potentiometer (if equipped) on the valve to make the actuator stop completely.
  • Flow calibration: Gradually increase the input signal from 0% to 100% (0-800 mA), and observe whether the movement speed of the actuator increases uniformly; if there is a sudden change or jitter, check whether the electrical signal is stable or whether the valve is polluted.
  • Load test: Apply the rated load to the actuator, and confirm that the flow rate and response speed of the valve meet the design requirements under load conditions.
1.3 Can this valve be installed in a vertical or horizontal orientation? Are there any restrictions?

The valve can be installed in both vertical and horizontal orientations, but the following restrictions must be observed:

  • Ensure that the spool of the valve can move freely without being affected by gravity, so the installation direction should not cause the spool to be stuck.
  • The drainage port (if any) should be kept unobstructed to avoid pressure build-up in the valve cavity.
  • For vertical installation, it is recommended that the solenoid part be facing upward to prevent moisture from accumulating in the electrical connector.
